Patna: Several long-distance trains, including the Rajdhani Express, will operate on diverted routes in   Katihar division due to non-interlocking work scheduled on the Katihar-Barsoi rail section.

According to Northeast Frontier Railway officials, the work will be carried out between June  10 and 13 in the Katihar-Dandkhora, Sanoli and Katihar-Manihari sections to improve railway safety and passenger infrastructure.

The route diversions will remain effective from June 7 to 13.

Trains to run via Purnea and Thakurganj

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Public Relations Officer Anoop Kumar Singh said the affected trains will be operated through the Purnea and Thakurganj route in both up and down directions instead of the usual Katihar-Barsoi section.

Railways has also arranged temporary stoppages for diverted trains at Purnea and Thakurganj stations during the diversion period.

Officials said several regular and weekly services have been included in the revised operational plan.

Multiple trains affected

Among the trains affected by the diversion are train numbers 12424, 15716, 15651, 15653, 15624 and 22411, along with several other services.

Railway authorities also announced that the Jogbani-Kolkata Chitpur Express will remain cancelled between Katihar and Jogbani during the affected period.

Passengers advised to check train status

Railway officials have advised passengers to verify train schedules and route details before travel to avoid inconvenience.

Passengers can access updated information through the railway’s official website, NTES platform, helpline services or toll-free enquiry numbers.
