Lakhisarai: The Asian Women’s Hockey Championship 2024 Trophy Tour made a vibrant stop in Lakhisarai on Wednesday, greeted with great enthusiasm and community spirit. The prestigious trophy, bound for the championship to be held in Rajgir, was received with full honors, escorted by an official police convoy.

At the main venue, the arrival of the trophy was celebrated with a lively band performance by local students, setting a tone of excitement. The unveiling of the trophy marked a proud moment for Lakhisarai, symbolizing unity and the growing passion for sports.

A key highlight of the event was the ceremonial passing of the ball, signifying the championship’s journey through the districts. The trophy then embarked on a roadshow through the city, with crowds lining the streets, showering flowers in celebration as it passed by. The involvement of schoolchildren was particularly inspiring, as they cheered the trophy tour with immense enthusiasm, adding a youthful energy to the festivities.

District dignitaries, including the District Magistrate, City Superintendent of Police (SP), Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), and District Sports Officer, were present to lend their support. The District Magistrate personally oversaw the arrangements, reflecting the significance of the occasion for the city and its growing recognition of hockey.

As the trophy left Lakhisarai for its next destination, Jamui, it was seen off with continued celebration and the echoing sound of the band playing triumphant tunes. The event marked a proud day for Lakhisarai, fostering a strong sense of unity and excitement ahead of the Asian Women’s Hockey Championship.

BSRDCL expects annual toll collection to reach Rs 11.31 crore once the plaza becomes operational.
