Lalu and Misa Visit Ancient Sun Temple in Patna, Review Chhath Puja Preparations
Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad on Tuesday visited the Olark Surya Mandir in Ular village, located in the Dulhinbazar block of Patna’s Paliganj subdivision, to offer prayers as the Chhath festival began. Accompanying him was his daughter, Pataliputra MP Misa Bharti. During their visit, they performed a puja and received prasad from the temple’s Mahant, Awadh Bihari Das, who honored both Yadav and Bharti with a traditional shawl.
Following the ceremony, the two inspected the temple premises and the adjacent pond to review preparations for the upcoming Chhath Puja.
Speaking to the media, MP Misa Bharti described the temple as an ancient and significant religious site in Patna, and explained that their visit was spontaneous. “The great festival of Chhath has begun today, so I came here with my father to offer prayers and also assess the preparations for Chhath,” she said.
While Misa refrained from commenting extensively on religious matters, she noted that there are always challenges in organizing such a large festival, regardless of the government in power. However, she expressed satisfaction with the ongoing preparations for this year’s Chhath Puja.
