Patna : Security forces in have seized a large consignment of narcotic tablets near the India-Nepal border, arresting two individuals during a routine bus check on Holi. The operation, carried out by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel, resulted in the recovery of 4,200 pills from a passenger bus.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a team from the SSB’s 56th Battalion intercepted the bus at Shyamnagar Chowk in the Bathnaha police station area. The contraband was discovered concealed inside a black bag aboard Prithvi Lok, a passenger bus en route from Bathnaha to Birpur.
The raid was led by Special Team Party Commander Surendra Pal Singh, along with Pathardeva Border Outpost (BOP) Commander. The team included Inspector GT Vishmdev Singh and constables Santosh Kumar, Manoj Kumar, and Amit Kumar.
Two arrested after questioning
Following the seizure, security personnel questioned passengers individually. Two men—Om Prakash Dubey, from Forbesganj in Araria district, and Rajesh Kumar Rai, from Birpur in Supaul district—claimed ownership of the bag.
Case handed over to policeÂ
The SSB confiscated the narcotic tablets and completed the necessary formalities before handing over the accused to Bathnaha police. Authorities are now preparing to file a case and move the duo to judicial custody in Araria.
