Patna: In a significant development, the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced a final opportunity for students, who have successfully cleared the matriculation examination, to enrol in class 11. These students are now eligible for spot enrollment in class 11 and have the option to change their schools. This decision comes as a response to concerns over low attendance resulting from the geographical distance between students’ residences and their educational institutions.
The BSEB has allocated a window from November 2 to 10 for the spot enrolment process. This initiative is part of the BSEB’s ongoing efforts to improve educational accessibility and ensure that students can study in institutions close to their homes.
Students seeking to take advantage of this opportunity can access information about available vacancies in nearby educational institutions through the Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS) website (www.ofssbihar.in). This provision also extends to students from various educational boards, including CBSE and CISCE.
The OFSS enrollment process had initially included a “slide-up” option for students who were selected and enrolled in the first and second lists but had not completed the final enrollment process in the institute to which they were transferred. Those who missed this opportunity had their enrollment automatically cancelled. To be eligible for the Inter-Annual Examination in 2025, these students are required to reapply for spot enrollment online.
For students whose enrollments were not updated due to various reasons, the BSEB is providing the opportunity to update their status during the spot enrollment period. Institutions accepting enrollments are expected to complete this update process by November 11.
The BSEB has also addressed concerns about the shortage of teachers in intermediate-level educational institutions. The education department is actively appointing teachers in various schools at this level. This recruitment effort aims to improve the overall quality of teaching and learning in these institutions.
With the addition of teachers to the school staff, students who were previously enrolled in distant educational institutions are allowed to reapply for spot enrollment against available vacancies. This measure is intended to ease the burden of commuting to educational institutions located far from their homes and provide students with a more convenient and accessible educational experience.
