Bihar Unveils 'Made in Bihar' Initiative to Boost Local Manufacturing and Marketing

Patna: Patna witnessed a significant development as the state launched its ‘Made in Bihar’ logo, aimed at bolstering the manufacturing and marketing network for hosiery products. The initiative, spearheaded by beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana in the Sikandarpur Industrial Area, Bihta, in collaboration with leading hosiery manufacturing company TT Limited, was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Sandeep Poundrik and TT Limited’s Managing Director Sanjay Jain.

Addressing the audience gathered for the occasion, ACS Poundrik underscored the pivotal role of the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, which has already enlisted 40,049 individuals, providing them with a staggering assistance amounting to Rs 2449 crore. Poundrik emphasized the importance of fostering partnerships with established companies to alleviate challenges related to raw materials and marketing, thereby ensuring sustainable production activities for new entrepreneurs associated with the scheme.

Highlighting success stories from the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana, Poundrik noted a collaboration of 40 beneficiaries in Muzaffarpur’s bag cluster with a renowned brand, a move that has enabled them to establish their brands and venture into independent businesses within a short span.

The inauguration ceremony also shed light on the burgeoning industrial landscape in Bihar, particularly in the Sikandarpur Industrial Area, where infrastructure development has witnessed remarkable progress. With the completion of the first plug-and-play shed spanning 50,000 square feet, accommodating beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, efforts are underway to construct eight additional sheds, further bolstering the industrial ecosystem.

Sanjay Jain, MD of TT Limited, emphasized the immense potential of Bihar in labor-intensive industries such as textiles, leather, and gem processing. He stressed the significance of focusing on employment generation rather than merely attracting investment, citing the industrious nature of the people of Bihar as a valuable asset.

Jain advocated for a shift in mindset and the creation of a robust ecosystem conducive to entrepreneurship. He lauded the government’s efforts in establishing Plug and Play sheds, facilitating a conducive environment for budding entrepreneurs.

As the event concluded, Vivek Ranjan Maitreya, Director of the Technical Development Directorate, extended a warm welcome to Sanjay Jain and Poundrik. Industries Director Pankaj Dixit presented a memento, marking the culmination of the event.
