Patna: LPG consumers in Bihar who receive government subsidy have been advised to complete their e-KYC before the September 14 deadline. According to the data cited in the report, around 26.50 lakh domestic and Ujjwala consumers are yet to complete the verification process.
86 Lakh Consumers Complete E-KYC
Around 86 lakh consumers with 14.2 kg domestic LPG connections have completed e-KYC, while verification remains pending for approximately 22.50 lakh consumers, according to the reported figures.
For Ujjwala beneficiaries, annual e-KYC is required to continue receiving benefits under the scheme.
E-KYC Can Be Completed From Home
Consumers do not necessarily need to visit their gas agency to complete the process. The verification can be carried out through the official mobile application of their LPG distributor, using a mobile phone.
Consumers who have not completed the process should check the latest instructions on their LPG company’s official app or website and complete the verification within the stated deadline.
LPG Refilling Gap Reduced To 25 Days
The report also highlights a change in LPG cylinder booking rules. Consumers can now reportedly book another cylinder after 25 days, compared with the earlier 45-day waiting period applicable in some cases, particularly for rural consumers.
The reduction is expected to make refilling more accessible for households that require cylinders more frequently.
