Patna/Bodh Gaya: Magadh University has extended the deadline for undergraduate admissions for the 2026–30 academic session upto Monday, according to an order issued by acting vice-chancellor Prof. Dilip Kumar Keshari.
The extension applies to admissions in undergraduate arts, science and commerce streams across all constituent and affiliated colleges under the university.
University officials said the decision was taken in view of student interest and to align with a Bihar government notification regarding admissions in 17 newly established government degree colleges.
Relief for students
The extension is expected to benefit thousands of students who were unable to complete their applications within the earlier deadline.
Students can apply online through the university’s admission portal and official website.
The newly established government colleges will begin admissions for six subjects in the initial phase — Hindi, English, Sociology, Economics, History and Political Science.
Each subject will have 48 seats, according to the university.
Admission process and academic calendar
Dean of Student Welfare (DSW) Prof Pramod Kumar Chaudhary said the revised deadline is applicable across all undergraduate streams and colleges under Magadh University.
He added that the Bihar government has directed all colleges in the state to begin regular academic activities and classes from July 1.
Officials said the state government is working to strengthen higher education and ensure timely academic sessions, with universities expected to complete admissions within the prescribed schedule.
Official advisory
The university has asked applicants to review admission guidelines, subject-wise seat availability, eligibility criteria and other details on its official website: www.magadhuniversity.ac.in.
