Patna: A young man was shot by unidentified criminals late Thursday night near the Kurji Mohammadpur railway track in the Phulwari Sharif police station area of Patna. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The victim, identified as Kiran Bhalero, is a resident of Maharashtra. His wife works at AIIMS Patna, and the couple resides in a rented house in Valmi. Following the attack, Kiran was rushed to AIIMS Patna, where he is currently in critical condition.
Upon receiving information, a police team from Phulwari Sharif reached the spot and initiated an investigation. A dog squad and forensic science laboratory (FSL) team were also called to assist in gathering evidence.
Phulwari Sharif Police Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Sushil Kumar stated that efforts are underway to identify the criminals. “We are investigating why Kiran was at Kurji Mohammadpur, who called him there, and the possible motive behind the attack. As of now, the injured is not in a condition to give a statement. Further action will be taken once he is able to speak,” Kumar said.
The police have launched a manhunt to track down the assailants, and investigations are ongoing to determine the reason behind the attack.
