Man Shot Dead in Front of Family on Holi in Sheohar, Bihar

Sheohar/Patna: A man was shot dead in front of his wife and children in Sheohar district on the day of Holi, triggering fear and outrage in the area. The attack took place near the Dubba River Dhankol embankment in Piprahi police station limits, as bike-borne assailants opened fire on the victim.
The deceased, a resident of Riga village, was reportedly targeted while people in the region were celebrating the festival of colours. The murder, carried out in broad daylight, has left the local community shaken.
According to police officials, the attackers showed no mercy despite the victim’s family pleading for his life. “We received information that a person was murdered near the Dubba River Dhankol embankment. The police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. A search is underway to arrest the culprits,” said Sushil Kumar, Sheohar’s sub-divisional police officer (SDPO).
While initial reports suggest the man was shot, some eyewitnesses claim he was also attacked with knives. The exact sequence of events is being investigated.
Police are yet to confirm the motive behind the killing. Meanwhile, the victim’s family remains in shock, with his wife and children reportedly unconscious after witnessing the attack.
