Patna : A 20-year-old youth from Nalanda died in a road accident on the Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama four-lane road after reportedly entering the wrong location while searching online for his destination.

The deceased was identified as Neeru Kumar, son of Dinesh Singh and a resident of Chhatarpur village under Parwalpur police station in Nalanda district.

According to police, Neeru was travelling by motorcycle to visit relatives in Barhiya village under Athmalgola block when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle near Kanhaiyapur village on the Mokama four-lane road.

Wrong Location Changed His Route

Neeru had left home on Tuesday night to visit his relatives in Barhiya village of Athmalgola.

According to the report, he was in a hurry and searched for Barhiya online but entered the location of Barhiya Nagar Parishad in Lakhisarai district instead of the village he intended to visit.

As a result, he followed a different route and reached the Mokama side instead of his intended destination.

Police also said the youth was wearing earphones while travelling. Investigators have suggested that he may not have noticed that he had moved onto a different route.

Motorcycle Collides Near Kanhaiyapur

Mokama police station SHO Kunal Kumar said the motorcycle collided with another vehicle near Kanhaiyapur village on the Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama four-lane road.

The collision severely damaged the motorcycle and Neeru died at the spot, according to police.

After receiving information about the accident, Mokama police reached the scene and took the body into custody. It was sent to Barh for post-mortem examination.

Body Handed Over To Family

Neeru’s family members reached the accident site after being informed by police.

Following the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family. The incident left the family mourning the loss.

Mokama police registered a case and began investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Police Investigate Circumstances Of Crash

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the route taken by the motorcycle and its collision with the other vehicle.

The investigation is also looking into how the wrong Barhiya location resulted in Neeru travelling towards Mokama instead of Athmalgola.

Police are gathering further information to establish the sequence of events leading to the fatal crash.
