Monsoon Revival: Heavy Rain Hits Six Bihar Districts

Rain Hits Bihar

Patna: The monsoon has intensified in Bihar, bringing heavy rainfall to several districts. Meteorologists predict continued rainfall across 23 districts, with 6 under a heavy rain alert and 17 others expected to experience lighter showers.

A low-pressure system over the Ganga region, extending into West Bengal and Jharkhand, has bolstered monsoon activity. This surge in precipitation is anticipated to persist for the coming week, potentially affecting water levels in rivers across the state.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of rising river levels due to the ongoing rains. In response, the Bihar Disaster Department has issued a helpline number, 1070, along with an additional contact, 0615-2294204/205, for public assistance and emergency support.

Despite the current surge in rainfall, Bihar has experienced 32% less rain than usual for this time of year. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as conditions continue to develop.
