Nalanda: Saraswati Puja was celebrated with devotion and grandeur at Nalanda Medical College, marking the inauguration of the college’s new Alumni Society lounge. The lounge was jointly unveiled by the college principal, Dr. Usha Kumari, and the president of the Nalanda Medical College Alumni Society, Dr. Diwakar Tejaswi.
Speaking to the press during the event, Dr. Sunil Kumar, secretary of the Alumni Society, announced that the college’s Foundation Day and a grand Alumni Meet are scheduled for April 2, with preparations already underway.
Dr. Puneet Kumar, secretary of this year’s Alumni Meet organising committee, shared that the 1993 batch of alumni is leading the organisation of the event. He added that a large number of alumni, both from India and abroad, have confirmed their participation, generating excitement across the college community.

The organising committee confirmed that the morning of April 2 will feature a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme covering important contemporary medical topics. The day will conclude with a gala dinner and cultural evening at Urja Stadium, showcasing a vibrant cultural programme.
In addition, the Alumni Meet will see the publication of a souvenir documenting the college’s traditions, achievements, and contributions of its alumni. The event will also honour the 1976 Golden Jubilee batch.
The Saraswati Puja and alumni celebrations were attended by senior doctors, faculty, and alumni, including Dr. Rashmi Prasad, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Mithilesh, Dr. Avinash Sahay, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Manish Kumar, Dr. Pratibha, Dr. Sanjay Singh, Dr. Ashok, Dr. Pankaj, Dr. Sunita, Dr. Sangeeta, Dr. Kumud, Dr. Valya, Dr. Prabhat, Dr. Roshan Kumar, Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Das, Dr. Manish Shankar, among others. Attendees praised both the Saraswati Puja and the upcoming Alumni Meet as significant and inspiring milestones for the institution.
