Patna: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced the forthcoming admission cycle for teacher education programmes across India, with the entrance examination scheduled for June 28.
The admissions, which will be held for the 2026 academic session, will be conducted through a Common Entrance Examination. Candidates will be required to apply online once the application link is activated on the official NCERT website. The council said details of the application schedule will be released shortly.
Applicants from across the country will be eligible to appear for the entrance test, which will serve as the basis for selection into various teacher training courses.
Among the programmes on offer are a six-year integrated M.Sc.Ed course, two-year B.Ed and M.Ed courses, a three-year integrated B.Ed–M.A programme, and an M.A in Educational Technology. These courses are designed to prepare candidates for careers in teaching and education-related fields.
The programmes will be delivered through Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) located in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, Shillong, Nellore, and New Delhi, along with institutions such as the National Institute of Education (NIE) and the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET). NCERT said these centres use modern pedagogical approaches aimed at strengthening teacher training.
The council has advised candidates to regularly check the official website for updates and to ensure they meet eligibility requirements before applying. It also urged applicants to keep necessary documents ready and to adhere strictly to deadlines once the registration process begins.
Officials said the opportunity is significant for candidates aspiring to enter the teaching profession, with selection fully dependent on performance in the entrance examination.
