Neetu Chandra Srivastava Announces ‘Kariatthi’: A Bhojpuri Film Showcasing Bihari Talent

PATNA – Actress Neetu Chandra Srivastava is once again bringing the film ‘Kariatthi’ to the language of Bihar. The film will be made in the Bhojpuri language, providing an opportunity for Bihari talent. The film’s producer, Neetu Chandra, revealed that following successful ventures like ‘Deswa,’ ‘Mithila Makhan,’ and ‘Jackson Halt,’ she is set to release two Bhojpuri and one Magahi film in the upcoming days, with the entire cast and crew hailing from the region.

Speaking about her film ‘Kariatthi,’ Neetu Chandra Srivastava explained that it is a term from the pure Bihari language. The film revolves around societal norms where girls with dark complexions face challenges from childhood. The film is centered around this theme, focusing on inspiration and talent. ‘Kariatthi’ is scheduled for release in the next 6 months, featuring a lead actress from the National School of Drama (NSD) who has also worked in Bhojpuri cinema.

Neetu Chandra, known from Bihar to Hollywood, expressed her commitment to increasing employment opportunities in Bihar through film production. Over the last 12 years, she and her brother Nitin Chandra have been actively involved in film production in Bihar. Neetu mentioned that they presented a film policy to the government nine years ago to boost the industry, but its implementation was delayed due to government reshuffling and bureaucratic changes. She remains hopeful that the policy will be implemented soon.

Highlighting their contribution to employment in Bihar, Neetu Chandra shared that when filming in the state, they create job opportunities for various roles such as actors, transport, makeup artists, and catering. Their efforts have connected people with employment for 30 days during each film production. Neetu emphasized that if more than 10 films simultaneously start shooting in Bihar, it could significantly increase employment opportunities for the people of the state. This has been their continuous endeavor over the past 12 years.
