New Planetarium Shows ‘Voyager’ and ‘Life of Tree’ to Debut from July 2

Patna: Starting tomorrow, July 2, Patna Planetarium will debut two new shows, ‘Voyager’ and ‘Life of Tree,’ replacing the current offerings ‘We are Stars’ and ‘Asteroid Mission Extreme’. Shiv Shankar Sahay, the nodal officer of the planetarium, announced that new shows will be presented in the first and third weeks of the month, while the old shows will be featured in the second and fourth weeks, alternating weekly. The shows will be available in both Hindi and English, with the first and last shows of the day in English and all others in Hindi. Special reclining chairs are available for viewers, allowing them to recline up to 120 degrees.

Ticket prices will remain unchanged despite the new shows. For ages 6 to 14, a 2D show will cost ₹50 and a 3D show will cost ₹60. For ages 15 and above, a 2D show will cost ₹80 and a 3D show will cost ₹100. Bulk bookings for school children or groups of 20 people will be offered at discounted rates, with 2D shows costing ₹10 and 3D shows ₹20. Special glasses will be provided for the 3D shows.

‘Life of Tree’ is an environment-themed show designed especially for children. It offers comprehensive information about trees through storytelling, covering topics such as how trees produce food, the functions of different parts of a tree, and the impact of trees on the environment.

‘Voyager’ is a show about NASA’s spacecraft of the same name, which is the first to cross the heliosphere and venture outside the solar system into an unknown cosmic region. The show will virtually present views of the universe, showcasing every activity performed by Voyager, including capturing images of the solar system and bringing them back to Earth.
