New Role for IAS Officer KK Pathak: From Revenue Reforms Dept to Revenue Board Chairman
Patna: Bihar IAS officer KK Pathak will not assume the position of Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, as per the latest government notification. Instead, Pathak has been appointed as the Chairman Member of the Revenue Council, according to the General Administration Department’s directive.
The notification clarifies that Pathak will take on his new role upon returning from leave, with the order retroactively effective from June 13. Additionally, Pathak will retain his responsibilities as the Director General of the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD).
In a broader administrative shuffle, the Bihar government has reassigned two other officers. Deepak Kumar Singh, currently the Additional Chief Secretary of Rural Affairs, will also take on the role of Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. Meanwhile, Kamlesh Kumar Singh, the settlement officer of Purnia, has been appointed as the Director of Land Acquisition.
Pathak has been on earned leave since June 2 and will remain on leave until June 30, with a total of 28 days of earned leave approved. The leave period followed a dispute over school operations during extreme summer heat, with Pathak advocating for schools to remain open despite the government’s preference for a holiday.
