New Terminal to Be Completed by February, Says Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary
Patna: The construction of the new terminal at Patna Airport is progressing rapidly, with completion expected by February. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced this development on social media, stating that the terminal’s exterior structure is nearing completion and operations are anticipated to commence in April.
The new terminal, built at a cost of Rs 1,400 crore, will boast world-class facilities, including the capacity to accommodate 4,500 passengers during peak hours, a significant increase from the current capacity of 1,300. The terminal will feature dedicated arrival and departure halls, 11 parking spaces for aircraft, and five air bridges for convenient passenger boarding.
The two-story terminal will have separate levels for arrivals and departures, with ramps connecting both floors to an adjacent multi-level parking facility for seamless passenger access. This state-of-the-art terminal, a key initiative under the NDA government, will enhance passenger experience and modernize the Jay Prakash International Airport in Patna.
