Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an on-site inspection of the rising water levels of the Ganga River in Patna, as concerns grow over potential flooding in the region. The Chief Minister toured key areas along the river, traveling via JP Ganga Path from Atal Path to Kangan Ghat, assessing the situation firsthand.
During the inspection, Nitish made stops at Kangan Ghat, Kali Ghat, Gandhi Ghat, and Krishna Ghat along the JP Ganga Path. He closely examined the condition of these areas and received detailed briefings from officials on the current status of the river and the surrounding infrastructure. In particular, he reviewed the ongoing construction of the approach road at Krishna Ghat, which connects Ashoka Rajpath to JP Ganga Path, and directed that the work be expedited.
As the water level of the Ganga River continues to rise, the Chief Minister instructed officials to remain on high alert and ensure that all necessary preparations are in place to manage any potential emergency in the areas along the riverbanks.
Accompanying the Chief Minister during the inspection were Principal Secretary to CM, Deepak Kumar, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Water Resources Department Chaitanya Prasad, District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra, and other senior officials.
