Patna: The fourth phase of the Samriddhi Yatra led by Nitish Kumar is set to begin on March 17, with the chief minister scheduled to visit eight districts over four days to review development programmes and interact with local residents.
The tour will take place from March 17 to March 20 and will cover Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Munger, Lakhisarai, Gaya and Aurangabad.
According to the schedule released by officials, the chief minister will begin the tour on March 17 with visits to Bhagalpur and Banka. On March 18, he is expected to travel to Jamui and Nawada. The following day, March 19, the yatra will move to Munger and Lakhisarai. The final leg of the tour on March 20 will cover programmes in Gaya and Aurangabad.
During the visits, Nitish is expected to review the progress of government schemes, assess development projects and hold interactions with local residents, public representatives and officials.
The announcement of the next phase of the tour comes at a time when political activity in the state has intensified due to elections for five seats in the Rajya Sabha from Bihar.
Voting for the seats is currently underway in the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
Earlier, several candidates from the ruling alliance filed their nominations for the elections, including leaders from the Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party. Amit Shah was present when nomination papers were filed.
Under the seat-sharing arrangement within the ruling coalition, two seats each have been allocated to the BJP and JD(U), while one seat has been allotted to the Rashtriya Lok Morcha led by Upendra Kushwaha.
