Notorious Criminal Manish Yadav Killed in Bihar Police Encounter Near Gopalganj
Gopalganj: A wanted criminal, Manish Yadav, was shot dead in an encounter with Bihar Police in Gopalganj on Friday. The police operation took place near a canal in Rampur Khurd village under the Gopalpur police station. Yadav, who had a Rs 50,000 bounty on his head, was wanted in multiple criminal cases and had been on the run.
During the encounter, an officer of the Special Task Force (STF), Roshan Kumar, sustained injuries and was taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
According to police sources, Yadav was allegedly planning a major crime when he was tracked down by Bihar STF and Gopalganj police. When surrounded, he refused to surrender and instead opened fire on the police. In retaliation, officers fired back, fatally injuring Yadav. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Yadav was accused of multiple serious crimes, including the recent murder of former village chief Arvind Yadav. Following the encounter, Gopalganj SP Avdhesh Dixit visited the hospital to check on the injured STF officer.
Confirming the encounter, the SP stated that Yadav had attempted to escape while being apprehended and fired at the police. In response, officers opened fire in self-defense, leading to his death.
