Patna: NTPC Barh and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Barauni, signed a Mutual Aid Agreement on June 24 aimed at enhancing cooperation in industrial safety, emergency preparedness and resource sharing between the two organisations.
The agreement was signed by C. Satya Rama Krishna, Executive Director of NTPC Barh, and Satya Prakash, Executive Director and Refinery Head of IOCL Barauni, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Framework for Emergency Support
According to officials, the agreement establishes a framework for mutual assistance during emergencies. It is designed to facilitate the rapid mobilisation of firefighting equipment, rescue resources and technical support whenever required.
The arrangement is expected to strengthen coordination and communication between NTPC Barh and IOCL Barauni, enabling a more effective response to industrial incidents and emergency situations.

Focus on Safety Preparedness
The agreement also provides for joint mock drills, training programmes and safety exercises. These activities are intended to improve preparedness levels, enhance emergency response capabilities and promote the adoption of best practices in industrial safety.
Officials said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to maintaining high safety standards and building resilience through collective preparedness.
Strengthening Industrial Collaboration
Both organisations highlighted the importance of cooperation among major industrial establishments in managing risks and ensuring the safety of employees, assets and surrounding communities.
