Patna: A big tax raid in Patna has revealed massive tax cheating by three gold traders in the Bakarganj area. The Commercial Tax Department found 70 kilograms of gold and 5,500 kilograms of silver at their shops. None of this gold or silver had proper documents or bills, raising serious questions about their business practices.

The traders admitted that they had not paid taxes properly. They have paid Rs 2 crore so far, and the department is now working to recover the rest of the tax along with fines and interest. The officials have also sealed their business places and are continuing the investigation.

This raid was carried out under a special operation called “Operation Sunflower.” The tax department had been watching the Bakarganj market for some time after getting reports of illegal gold and silver sales. A special team collected proof like digital records and sales data before acting.

Officials believe that more traders might be involved in this case. They are checking if this is part of a bigger group that is cheating the government by not paying taxes. The department is now looking for other people linked to this network and promises strict action against anyone found guilty.
