Over 50 Trains Affected by Maintenance Work on Gorakhpur-Gonda Rail Section; Restored Services Announced

Patna: Railway operations have been disrupted due to ongoing automatic signaling and maintenance work between Domingarh and Jagatbela railway stations on the Gorakhpur-Gonda rail section. More than 50 trains were impacted by the work, which began earlier this month. However, the Railways has issued an advisory announcing the restoration of some services that were halted between October 16 and 27.

Train numbers 11123 and 11124, the Gwalior-Barauni Express, which had been cancelled from October 16 to 27, are now restored and will operate during this period as scheduled.

Several trains have undergone changes in their termination and origin points due to the ongoing work.

– Train 09112 Gorakhpur-Vadodara Special: Departing from Gorakhpur on October 16 and 23, this train will now begin from Gomtinagar at 09:30 via Gomtinagar-Aishbagh-Manaknagar, instead of Gorakhpur. The train will leave Aishbagh at 10:32. Services between Gorakhpur and Lucknow will remain cancelled.

– Train 15058 Anand Vihar Terminal-Gorakhpur Express: On October 16 and 23, this train will depart from Lucknow Junction instead of Gorakhpur and terminate at Lucknow’s Alamnagar at 2:00 am. The segment between Lucknow and Gorakhpur will be cancelled.

– Train 15057 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal Express: Running on October 17 and 24, the train will depart from Lucknow Junction at 2:22 am, via Alamnagar, instead of Gorakhpur. The Gorakhpur-Lucknow section will remain cancelled.

– Train 09657 Daurai-Barhni Special: Departing from Daurai on October 19 and 26, this train will terminate at Gomti Nagar at 08:50 instead of Barhni. The segment from Gomti Nagar to Barhni will remain cancelled.

– Train 15105 Chhapra-Nautanwa Express: Operating from October 14 to 27, the train will terminate at Gorakhpur Cantt station at 09:45, instead of Nautanwa. The stretch between Gorakhpur Cantt and Nautanwa will be cancelled.

The Railways has also announced the operation of a special Vande Bharat train for 13 trips between Lucknow and Chhapra during the festive season.

– Train 02270/02269 Lucknow-Chhapra-Lucknow Vande Bharat Special will run from October 25 to November 8.
– Departure from Lucknow: The train will leave at 2:05 pm and reach Chhapra at 9:30 pm, stopping at Sultanpur, Varanasi, Ghazipur City, Ballia, and Suremanpur along the way.
– Return from Chhapra: The train will depart at 11:00 pm and reach Lucknow at 6:30 am the next day, following the same route.

This Vande Bharat train will feature eight coaches, including both AC and Chair Car configurations.

The ongoing work includes pre-non-interlocking activities at Domingarh station from October 14 to 25, followed by non-interlocking work on October 26 and 27, which is expected to cause further temporary disruptions in train services. Passengers are advised to check for updates before planning their journeys.
