Purnia: Asaduddin Owaisi, representing the AIMIM, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday for allegedly stereotyping Muslims in his recent speech in Rajasthan. He disputed the PM’s assertion regarding those with more children, deeming it false.

Speaking at an election rally in Bihar’s Purnia district, Owaisi pointed out the family sizes of prominent BJP figures like Modi, Amit Shah, and Ravi Shankar Prasad, juxtaposing them with his own, highlighting what he perceived as a double standard.

Modi’s remarks in Rajasthan, where he accused the opposition of planning to distribute resources to “infiltrators” and those with more children, drew Owaisi’s scrutiny. Owaisi questioned the factual basis of Modi’s assertion, citing official data indicating a decline in Muslim fertility rates. He emphasized the importance of fact-checking and criticized Modi’s use of divisive rhetoric.

Owaisi also criticized Modi for using the term “ghuspaithiye” (infiltrators), considering it derogatory towards residents of the Seemanchal region in Bihar. He accused the government of failing to provide evidence of illegal immigration despite repeated inquiries in Parliament.

Furthermore, Owaisi condemned what he perceived as Modi’s contrasting treatment of Muslims domestically and internationally, alleging a discrepancy in his approach.

The AIMIM, gearing up for Bihar elections, plans to contest over a dozen seats, with Akhtarul Iman contesting from the Muslim-majority Kishanganj constituency.

Meanwhile, Modi, campaigning in Aligarh, reiterated his criticism of the Congress’s alleged wealth redistribution agenda. Despite the ensuing political controversy, the Congress sought to engage with Modi to clarify its election promises, while the BJP defended Modi’s remarks as reflective of public sentiment. Modi reiterated his concerns about the Congress and opposition INDIA bloc’s intentions, aiming to alert the public about perceived threats.
