Patna: A Pakistani woman, Khadija Noor, finds herself in a complex legal situation following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Despite the Indian government’s directive to expel all Pakistani nationals by April 27, Khadija remains in India due to her ongoing legal obligations.

In August 2022, Khadija was apprehended by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at India-Nepal border at Bhittamore in Sitamarhi, Bihar along with her partner, Syed Haider. She was subsequently imprisoned for over two years.

The Patna High Court granted her conditional bail, mandating monthly court appearances. Her partner, Haider, and his brother acted as her sureties.

Currently residing in Hyderabad, Khadija faces a dilemma: comply with the court’s requirement to appear monthly or adhere to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ order for her deportation. The Additional Public Prosecutor has warned that failure to attend court could result in an arrest warrant and forfeiture of her bail bond.

Authorities are in communication with Telangana police to ascertain her whereabouts and determine the appropriate course of action.

  • 🚨 Two lives lost in just 48 hours. Fear grips villages near Valmiki Tiger Reserve. 🐅

A woman and an elderly farmer were killed in separate tiger attacks near the Bihar–Uttar Pradesh border, while forest officials later discovered an injured tiger dead inside the reserve. As panic spreads across border villages, authorities have urged residents to avoid entering forest-edge fields alone.

Will stronger human–wildlife conflict management prevent more tragedies?
