Para Swimmer Shams Alam to Represent India at Reykjavik International Games
Gandhinagar: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) NCOE Gandhinagar held a special farewell ceremony for renowned para swimmer Shams Alam, who is set to represent India at the Reykjavik International Games in Iceland from 24 to 26 January.
During the ceremony, NCOE Gandhinagar Incharge Karthikeyan extended his best wishes to Alam for a safe and successful competition. Senior Chief Coach Reena Das and Coach Jagnarayan Singh also encouraged the swimmer, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver an outstanding performance. Fellow para swimmers joined the event, showing their support as he embarks on this international challenge.
Alam, who has earned recognition for his achievements in para swimming, expressed his enthusiasm ahead of the competition. “It is a matter of pride for me to participate in the Reykjavik International Games. I will give my best and try to bring laurels to India. This is a great opportunity to start the year on a high note,” he said.
His participation in Iceland is expected to further elevate India’s presence in para sports and mark another milestone in his distinguished career. The Indian sporting community will be keenly watching his performance on the international stage.
