Patna: A major security breach occurred on Thursday aboard the 13245/46 Capital Express travelling from New Jalpaiguri to Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna, as a group of armed miscreants boarded the train at Onta Halt near Mokama and carried out a violent robbery in the general compartment.

According to police reports, approximately 15 passengers were assaulted during the incident, with three sustaining injuries—two of them suffering head wounds. All injured individuals have been taken to a nearby hospital and are reported to be out of danger.

Eyewitnesses stated that the attackers looted cash, mobile phones and other valuables from passengers. When some resisted, they were brutally beaten. The assailants reportedly fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and local police responded to the scene shortly after receiving information about the robbery. A team of doctors also accompanied the authorities to assist the injured.

RPF officials have launched an investigation and are recording statements from passengers in an attempt to identify the perpetrators. No arrests had been made at the time of filing this report.
