Patna: The Patliputra Greenfield Satellite Township is set to receive a dedicated institutional framework to promote economic activities and create new investment opportunities. As part of the township’s economic master plan, a proposal for setting up an Economic Development Cell or Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) will be prepared.
The proposed mechanism is aimed at giving a structured push to investment-related activities while improving coordination among various departments and agencies involved in the township’s development.
Focus on Attracting and Implementing Investments
According to officials in the Urban Development and Housing Department, the Economic Development Cell will focus on promoting economic activities, identifying investment opportunities and facilitating the implementation of projects.
The proposed framework will also help identify potential investment areas and establish better coordination among concerned government departments and agencies.
Through the SPV mechanism, responsibilities related to the township’s development are expected to be brought under a clearer institutional structure, helping streamline decision-making and project implementation.
Officials to Receive Training and Technical Support
A capacity-building and handholding plan will also be prepared to ensure the township can be managed and developed effectively over the long term.
The plan will include training for officials and institutions associated with the project, along with technical support required during project implementation. The objective is to strengthen institutional capacity so that development plans can be monitored and executed effectively at different stages.
