Patna: Patna Airport is set to introduce several new facilities aimed at improving passenger comfort and safety, including retiring rooms and emergency medical support for elderly and sick travellers.
Two retiring rooms are under construction at the airport, each designed to accommodate four to six beds. Officials said the initiative will provide weary passengers with a place to rest, alongside access to clean drinking water, light snacks and basic medical care. Both on-the-spot and online booking options will be available.
A health check-up centre on the premises will also offer first aid services, while a defibrillator machine is being installed to provide immediate treatment in cases of cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies.
The Bihar State Health Society has committed to supplying a defibrillator and first aid box to the airport administration. Officials said the move would ensure faster emergency response and prevent serious health risks during travel.
“These measures are designed to ensure that elderly passengers and their families face no difficulty while travelling,” an airport official said, adding that the new facilities would be operational soon.
