Patna: In preparation for the 2024 Ravana Vadh program, District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra held a joint briefing for deputed magistrates and police officers at Gandhi Maidan. The officials emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order, stressing that all personnel must remain vigilant and coordinated throughout the event.
To ensure comprehensive monitoring, 128 CCTV cameras, including bullet and PTZ cameras, will be installed around Gandhi Maidan. Additionally, a temporary police station, three control rooms, and 13 watch towers will be set up to oversee the event. A mobile bike squad and three Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will also be on standby to handle emergencies.
Dr. Singh highlighted the need for smooth entry and exit of attendees at Gandhi Maidan. He noted that the Ravana Vadh program will take place at approximately 18 locations across the district, with the main event being held at Gandhi Maidan. Strict adherence to established protocols will be essential to ensure the safety of all participants.
The entire Gandhi Maidan area has been divided into four sectors for better management, with 90 magistrates and four sector magistrates deployed. Each sector will have medical facilities, fire units, and drinking water stations to cater to attendees’ needs.
In terms of security, police forces, including women and lathi units, will be stationed throughout the area, with magistrates at every entrance. Seven magistrates will monitor the district control room, and eight will oversee the control room at Gandhi Maidan. IT personnel will be stationed in the CCTV control room to ensure smooth operations.
Dr. Singh also announced that excellent lighting arrangements will be implemented around Gandhi Maidan, with 136 LED metal lights, 229 pole lights, and 20 high-mast lights enhancing visibility during the event. Coordination among the Municipal Corporation, Building Construction Department, and Electricity Department has been prioritized to ensure adequate lighting.
A detailed traffic management plan has been put in place, prohibiting parking and gatherings in and around Gandhi Maidan. To facilitate crowd control, attendees will be directed to enter through designated gates, and media outlets will inform the public about alternative routes to avoid congestion.
For medical emergencies, nine ambulances with necessary medical teams and supplies will be stationed on-site. Dr. Singh directed the Civil Surgeon to coordinate with nearby hospitals to ensure immediate medical attention if needed. Fire units will also be present to address any potential hazards during the event.
The District Magistrate and SSP concluded the briefing by urging all officials to remain alert and maintain strong intelligence systems to counter any rumors. The administration is fully prepared to uphold law and order during the Ravana Vadh program, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
