Patna District Schools Alter Class Timings in Response to Scorching Heat

School timings changed due to scorching heat

Patna: As temperatures soar, schools in Patna district have adjusted their schedules following directives from the District Magistrate (DM). With the aim of mitigating the effects of the rising heat, the DM on Thursday mandated changes in class timings, effective until April 30.

Under the DM’s orders, classes are now scheduled to conclude by 11:30 AM, with a hiatus between half-past eleven and four in the afternoon across all schools. Responding to this directive, several private institutions have also adapted their timetables accordingly.

Loyola High School is among those instituting revised timings, effective from the following day. Classes ranging from 1st to 10th grade will now commence at staggered intervals, beginning as early as 6:40 AM and concluding by 10:30 AM. The school administration formally communicated these adjustments through a notice.

Similarly, other educational institutions have followed suit, with Saint Michael High School, Notre Dame Academy, Don Bosco Academy, Saint Joseph’s Convent, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sant Domenic Savio’s, and Public School in Delhi adjusting their schedules to operate from 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM. St. Xavier’s High School has opted for a 6:15 AM to 11:15 AM timetable, while Carmel High School will conduct classes from 6:30 AM to 11:15 AM.
