Patna: Patna Divisional Commissioner, Mayank Warvade, underscored the administration’s top priority of ensuring a clean, malpractice-free, and peaceful environment for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. During a briefing at the Commissioner’s office, Warvade directed all deputed officers, magistrates, and police personnel to be vigilant and committed to their responsibilities.
The examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), will be held across three sub-centers in Patna on 20, 21, 22, 28, and 29 September 2024. With 417 candidates registered, Warvade emphasized the need for robust law and order maintenance, smooth traffic management, and effective crowd control. He stressed the importance of following UPSC guidelines and ensuring thorough preparations.
The Civil Services (Main) Examination will take place in two shifts at the sub-centers. The Commissioner has appointed a senior officer from UPSC as an observer, supported by two inspection officers. Local inspection officers, static magistrates, and police officers have been assigned to manage the examination centers. They will ensure strict adherence to examination protocols and will conduct inspections on 19 and 27 September.
Warvade instructed that all local inspection officers must arrive at their respective centers two hours before the exam starts and report compliance to the Commissioner’s office. Additionally, no candidate or examination staff is permitted to carry mobile phones, IT gadgets, or any other electronic devices into the examination halls. Violations will result in disciplinary action and potential disqualification from future examinations.
The Commissioner also directed the Superintendent of Police, Traffic, to ensure smooth traffic flow during the examination days. Static magistrates will be responsible for monitoring compliance with examination guidelines, including preventing the entry of prohibited items into examination halls.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Patna Sadar and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Patna Sadar-1 will oversee law and order at the centers. Additional District Magistrate Law and Order Patna, along with City Superintendent of Police Central Patna, will handle senior-level oversight. Warvade expressed confidence in the officers’ ability to conduct a successful and orderly examination.
