Patna DM Reviews Development Programs and Directs Timely Implementation of Welfare Schemes

Patna: A District Development Coordination Committee meeting was held at the Collectorate under the leadership of District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh. The meeting reviewed the progress of various government schemes across departments such as Rural Development, Revenue, Welfare, Panchayati Raj, ICDS, Education, Health, Industry, Minority Welfare, Labor, Livelihood, and more.

Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of officers working with responsibility and discipline, urging them to ensure that the public does not have to visit offices for resolving minor issues. He insisted on strengthening the work culture and maintaining timely attendance of all employees and officers to improve efficiency and service delivery.

The District Magistrate highlighted the successful implementation of public welfare and development schemes as the top priority. He stressed the need for inter-departmental coordination and the timely, quality execution of these schemes. Special attention was drawn to the completion of the Seven Resolves of Developed Bihar and Seven Resolves of Self-Reliant Bihar. Dr. Singh directed officials to expedite ongoing works, particularly those related to land acquisition for infrastructure projects like playgrounds, government buildings, and educational institutions.

Dr. Singh also reviewed the status of various youth-oriented schemes such as the Bihar Student Credit Card, Chief Minister Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Yojana, and Kushal Yuva Program. He was informed that out of 8,045 applications under the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, 4,563 had been approved, and Rs 62.84 crore had been distributed. Similarly, 1,846 youth benefited from the Chief Minister Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Yojana, receiving a total of Rs 310.09 lakh. He instructed the Deputy Development Commissioner to monitor the progress and ensure the timely processing of pending applications.

In the ongoing water supply initiatives, under the Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal scheme, 6,54,800 houses have been covered by the Public Health Engineering Department, with work still ongoing in some areas. The Ghar Tak Pucca Gali Naliyan scheme saw 100% completion by the Panchayati Raj Department, with remaining work expected to be completed by March 2025. Similarly, the Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana has made significant progress, and the District Magistrate has directed that all work under this scheme be completed by March 2025.

Dr. Singh reviewed the status of irrigation schemes, with work started on 254 out of 335 total schemes. Additionally, the construction of Panchayat Government Buildings was also discussed. With 57 out of 309 targeted buildings completed, the District Magistrate instructed the District Panchayat Raj Officer to expedite the construction process.

The meeting also focused on the formation of sports clubs in each Gram Panchayat and the construction of playgrounds. Progress was noted, with 89 sports clubs formed and work beginning on playgrounds in 177 Panchayats. Dr. Singh directed all concerned officers to accelerate these efforts to meet targets within the designated timelines.

Dr. Singh also reviewed various skill development and entrepreneurship schemes, such as the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneur Scheme, which has already reached 1,938 beneficiaries. The District Magistrate urged the concerned officials to ensure timely disbursement of funds and improve implementation to meet the set targets.

Finally, the District Magistrate stressed the importance of ensuring that all public interest matters are handled swiftly and with utmost attention. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Development Commissioner, Civil Surgeon, Additional Collectors, District Panchayat Raj Officer, District Welfare Officer, District Education Officer, and other key officials.
