Patna: FSSAI Commends Beur Jail’s Food Quality Comparable to Four-Star Hotels
PATNA – The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has bestowed its stamp of approval on the quality of food at Beur Central Jail, likening it to that of four-star hotels.
Teams from International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and FSSAI inspected the central kitchen of the model prison Beur on Wednesday. Following a thorough examination, FSSAI awarded the jail’s kitchen four stars, categorizing it as excellent. The Quality Assurance Organization also conferred an ISO certificate upon Beur Central Jail.
As of December 26, 2023, the Quality Assurance Organization, under the guidance of jail superintendent E. Jitendra Kumar, awarded the ISO certificate to the Central Kitchen of the model prison Beur. Additionally, Beur prison received certificates for Environmental Management System and Quality Management System, both valid until the year 2026. Meanwhile, the validity of the FSSAI certificate extends until 2024.
Superintendent E. Jitendra Kumar emphasized the prison administration’s unwavering commitment to the environmental development of inmates and cleanliness. The top priority remains providing quality meals to inmates, with special attention to their health, and offering employment-oriented training to facilitate their integration into mainstream society.
