Patna: The Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo, visited Asha Kiran Balika Grih in Patliputra on Sunday and spent time interacting with children residing at the shelter home.
Justice Sahoo was accompanied by his spouse during the visit to the facility, which houses abandoned children and girls up to the age of 18 years. The shelter home is located within the premises of Notre Dame Academy.
Officials, staff members and children welcomed the visiting delegation.
Children present cultural performances
During the programme, children presented short skits and plays on social themes, including the effects of excessive mobile phone use and Operation Sindoor.
Justice Sahoo appreciated the performances and encouraged the children to continue developing their talents. He also acknowledged the contribution of staff members and caregivers involved in the welfare and upbringing of the children.
Focus on education and discipline
Addressing the children, the Chief Justice advised them to focus on education, health and disciplined living. He referred to the achievements of women and girls in different professional fields, including the judiciary.
He also urged teachers and staff members to identify and nurture the hidden talents of the children to support their future development.
