Patna: Patna’s ISKCON temple on Buddha Marg is set to host one of its grandest Krishna Janmashtami celebrations on August 16, with the management anticipating a record turnout of 8 lakh devotees, surpassing last year’s 7 lakh visitors. Preparations are in full swing, with 8 tonnes of fresh flowers imported from Bangkok, Mauritius, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune to decorate the temple on the theme of Vrindavan, offering devotees an immersive spiritual experience.
The festivities will begin at 7 am and continue until 1 am, featuring continuous bhajan-kirtan by troupes from Mayapuri and Vrindavan. Special arrangements include the anointment of Banke Bihari with 251 silver urns, offering of 501 varieties of Mahabhog, and a cradle where visitors can swing the deity in child form. To manage the large crowd, waterproof pandals, separate queues for men and women, and enhanced Prasadam distribution with multiple priests have been arranged.
Security will be tight, with police deployment, barricading, and private bouncers ensuring smooth movement from entry points at Ashok Cinema Hall and Maurya Lok. The temple management aims to provide every devotee with a serene and culturally rich experience, making Janmashtami not just a ritual but a celebration of love and devotion.
