Patna: Passengers arriving at Patna Junction will soon be able to book Rapido bike and taxi rides directly from the station, with services scheduled to begin on September 30.
The Danapur Railway Division signed an agreement with Rapido on Monday, introducing the facility as a pilot project. Commuters will be able to travel from the station to neighbourhoods including Kankarbagh, Anisabad, Rajendra Nagar, Kadamkuan, Gandhi Maidan, Phulwarisharif, Chitkohra, Kurji and Rajivnagar.
A passenger assistance centre will be set up on platform one of the station, according to Abhinav Siddharth, senior divisional commercial manager of the Danapur division. “When passengers reach Patna Junction, they will be able to reach home, office and other places without waiting by Rapido,” he said.
Around 400–500 vehicles will be available at any time, including bikes, cars and auto taxis, which will be stationed in both the main parking area and the Karbighiya side parking. If successful, the initiative will be expanded to Patliputra Junction, Rajendra Nagar Terminal and Danapur station, railway officials confirmed.
