Patna: A gruesome murder in the Maner area on the outskirts of Patna has sparked panic among local residents, raising fresh concerns over the city’s law and order situation. The body of an unidentified man, believed to be around 30 years old, was discovered near a brick kiln in Vyapur, with multiple stab wounds and his throat slit.
Senior police officials, including Patna West SP Bhanu Pratap Singh, rushed to the scene after reports emerged of the body. A rope, sack and a brick were found nearby, leading police to suspect the murder occurred elsewhere and the body was dumped in Maner to destroy evidence.
“The deceased has not yet been identified. The body has been sent for post-mortem and we are employing all possible methods to ascertain his identity,” Singh said.
While police have launched a full investigation and assured that the culprits will be brought to justice, the incident has once again highlighted the alarming rise in violent crimes in and around Patna.
