Patna: Three coaches of Patna Metro have finally arrived in the city. These coaches were brought from Pune to Patna on special 74-wheel trucks. It took around eight to nine days for them to reach Patna via the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi route. All three coaches have been kept at the ISBT depot, where the process of unloading will now begin. After unloading, technical teams will assemble different parts of these coaches and check them thoroughly before trials.
Officials said that the trial run will be conducted from ISBT to Malahi Pakadi. During the trial, technical tests will be done to ensure everything is safe and working well. If any problems are found, they will be fixed quickly. The target is to complete these trials by the first week of August so that metro services can be started from August 15 as a gift to Patna’s people.
In the first phase, metro operations will begin on a 6.1 km route from ISBT at Bairia to Malahi Pakadi. This metro train will have three coaches and can carry about 900 passengers, including seating and standing spaces. Five stations have been built on this route – ISBT, Zeromile, Bhootnath, Khemnichak, and Malahi Pakadi. However, Khemnichak station is not ready yet, so it may be skipped during the trial run.
The arrival of these metro coaches has brought hope to residents waiting for better transport facilities. Once operational, Patna Metro will help reduce traffic problems and make daily travel faster and easier for thousands of people.
