Patna: In a significant development, the Patna Municipal Corporation is set to establish its own petrol pump, ensuring a seamless fuel supply for the municipality’s vehicles and equipment. The initiative, a collaborative effort between the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), aims to address potential challenges in the fuel procurement process.
The petrol pump is slated to be operational in two zones of the PMC—Patliputra zone and Kankarbagh zone. IOCL, a leading player in the petroleum industry, will join hands with the municipal body to manage the operations of the facility.
Key Locations Identified for Fuel Supply
Two strategic locations have been earmarked for the petrol pump’s construction to efficiently cater to the fuel needs of the Patna Municipal Corporation’s fleet. In the Patliputra area, the facility will be situated near the water tank, while in the Kankarbagh area, it will be established near Transport Nagar.
Construction Set for New Year
With a target set for construction commencement in the upcoming new year, the Patna Municipal Corporation aims to eliminate any potential hindrance in the fuel supply chain for its vehicles. The proactive approach towards infrastructure development underscores the municipality’s commitment to efficient and uninterrupted public service.
Simultaneous Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Station
In a forward-thinking move, the Patna Municipal Corporation is not only focusing on conventional fuel supply but also ensuring the establishment of a station for charging electric vehicles. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has already been inked between the municipal corporation and IOCL, solidifying their commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
