Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has stepped up its drive against illegal unipoles, removing three unauthorised structures in Kankarbagh during a late-night enforcement operation on Monday.
The action was carried out on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena as part of the civic body’s ongoing campaign to identify and remove illegal unipoles from areas under its jurisdiction.
Three Locations Targeted
The unipoles were removed from Kankarbagh Cooperative Society near Viklang Bhawan, near Medanta Hospital and near Sai Netralaya Mor.
The civic body said the action forms part of a phased campaign being conducted across its municipal circles to identify structures that do not comply with applicable rules.
Four More Unipoles Identified
The Kankarbagh circle has identified seven illegal unipoles in total. With three already removed, the civic body is preparing to take action against the remaining four structures.
These include two unipoles near Patliputra Sports Complex, and one each near Rajendra Nagar Vegetable Market and the Tempo Stand near V-Mart.
The remaining structures are expected to be removed as part of the continuing enforcement drive.
Heavy Machinery Used In Operation
The municipal corporation deployed a dedicated team and heavy machinery to ensure the removal operation was carried out safely and efficiently.
The team included two Hydra cranes, two JCB machines, two Hyva vehicles and 15 municipal personnel.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Municipal Commissioner Krishna Swaroop.
Action To Continue Across Patna
The PMC said the campaign against illegal unipoles will continue across all municipal circles.
Officials have been directed to identify unauthorised unipoles and remove them in a phased manner.
The latest action in Kankarbagh is part of the civic body’s broader enforcement effort to clear illegal structures and ensure compliance with municipal regulations across Patna.
