Patna Municipal Corporation Sets Up Water Relief Points Across City As Heatwave Intensifies

Free drinking water stalls and mobile “Nigam Neer” units deployed at major junctions, markets and public spaces to help residents cope with soaring temperatures.

Patna: In light of the constantly rising temperatures and intense heat, the Patna Municipal Corporation has made extensive arrangements for drinking water. The Municipal Corporation has installed drinking water stalls and “Nigam Neer” (Clean Water) at public places, intersections, and crowded areas in all zones. Free cold water is available at these locations for pedestrians, rickshaw pullers, laborers, shopkeepers, and the general public.

Drinking Water Reaches People Through “Nigam Neer” Mobile Service
Nigam Neer is Patna Municipal Corporation’s water-on-wheels service, which provides 200 liters of drinking water at a time. These taps are installed so that the public can easily fill their bottles with water. Their locations are also adjustable as needed. The Corporation makes arrangements for government events and crowded places, as needed and as ordered.

Currently, Nigam Neer vehicles are stationed near Vikas Bhawan, GPO Golambar, Patna Junction, and Rajendra Nagar Railway Station. Additionally, Nigam Neer vehicles are also roaming around other crowded areas such as NMCH, Agamkuan, Gaighat, Nawab Bahadur Road, West Darwaza, City Court, Alamganj Police Station, Jalla Road, Bajrangpuri, Arya Kumar Road, Nala Road, Kadamkuan, Khetan Market, Baripath, Ashok Rajpath, Khajanchi Road, GM Road, Sabzibagh, Bazar Samiti, Musallahpur Haat, etc., providing drinking water to the public.

Provision of Drinking Water at Various Locations
Patna Municipal Corporation has arranged drinking water stalls at various locations in different zones. Each drinking water stall has two large pitchers, each holding 100 liters of drinking water at a time. These pots are regularly cleaned and refilled by the Municipal Corporation. The list of these locations is as follows:

New Capital Zone
Ward 3: In the Muralichak School campus and near Jagdev Path Pillar No. 203 German Hangar
Ward 4: Near Sheikhpura Kendriya Vidyalaya and Vidyapeeth, Raja Bazaar
Ward 9: Pesu Golambar and 15 Harding Road
Ward 10: Anisabad Golambar and Chitkohra Golambar
Ward 14: Kachi Talab Sadguru Ashram
Ward 15: Next to Dumahala Finance Building, on Road No. 16, on Road No. 10, behind Bapu Tower, on Road No. 6 and near the Income Tax Building
Ward 18: Near Dopulwa Temple, at the police post, at the Labor Court, Devi Sthan and Dr. Janardan Gali
Ward 28: At Jamal Road corner, Station Road, near Subhash Park and Kargil Chowk

Patna Municipal Corporation is operating all these facilities to ensure easy access to clean, cool, and safe drinking water for the general public. Given the increasing heat and heat waves, the corporation is striving to ensure that no one in the city faces a drinking water shortage.

If there is a problem of drinking water in any area or any deficiency is seen in the arrangements of the drinking water stall or the corporation, then the citizens can inform about it to the concerned zonal office or toll free number 155304 and WhatsApp chatbot number 9264447449, so that necessary action can be taken immediately.
