Patna: A decapitated body was discovered on a busy state highway in Patna on Monday morning, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The remains, believed to be of a man aged around 45, were found between Karnapura and Roniya villages on the Bihta–Sarmera State Highway (SH-78) in Naubatpur, Patna. The head and both hands were missing, leaving residents alarmed and fearful.
Villagers have expressed strong suspicions that the man was murdered, though police have not ruled out the possibility of a road accident. The body has been sent for postmortem examination to establish the cause of death, and efforts are under way to confirm the victim’s identity.
Officers have begun questioning locals and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. A senior police official said: “Only after a thorough investigation can we confirm whether this is a case of murder or an accident.”
