Patna: Two bike-borne men allegedly snatched a gold ‘Jitiya’ necklace from Usha Devi, wife of JD(U) leader Jagdish Vishwakarma, in Narayanpur village under Naubatpur police station limits in Patna district on Friday.
The incident took place on the Naubatpur-Masaurhi main road, near the victim’s home. The suspects were reportedly riding a red R15 motorcycle.
Woman Targeted While Walking With Grandson
According to the complaint, Usha Devi was walking towards her business establishment, located around 100 yards from her home, with her grandson when the suspects approached her from behind.
The two men allegedly snatched the necklace from her neck and fled before local residents could intervene.
Suspects Flee Towards Piplawan
After the incident, the suspects reportedly fled towards Piplawan on the motorcycle. Usha Devi raised an alarm, prompting nearby residents and villagers to gather at the spot.
The incident during the daytime has raised concerns among local residents and shopkeepers in the area.
Police Examine CCTV Footage
Jagdish Vishwakarma submitted a written complaint at Naubatpur police station against two unidentified men in connection with the incident.
Police have started an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the suspects and trace the motorcycle used in the crime.
Further investigation is underway.
