Patna: District Magistrate of Patna, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar, conducted an inspection of various locations near Patna Junction. The officials issued directives to ensure smooth traffic movement in the area.

The District Magistrate emphasized that Patna Junction is a crucial hub for public convenience, with thousands of passengers commuting daily. To enhance facilities, the state government is constructing a Multi-Modal Hub and a subway near the junction under the Patna Smart City Mission. Additionally, a multi-level car parking facility is being developed at Maurya Lok.

District Magistrate of Patna, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Avkash Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar, conducted an inspection of various locations near Patna Junction.

The inspection was carried out to ensure smooth traffic flow. Representatives from auto and bus unions, public representatives, and common citizens also provided their suggestions. A multi-member sub-committee, chaired by the Superintendent of Police (Traffic), has been formed to oversee traffic management in the area. This committee includes the Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), Additional District Magistrate (Urban Management), District Transport Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic), and engineers from the Road Construction Department and Bridge Construction Corporation. They will conduct regular inspections, consult stakeholders, and propose the best solutions for effective traffic management.

The Multi-Modal Hub is being constructed over 4 acres with a four-story (G+3) structure, providing extensive parking facilities. The facility will accommodate 32 buses and 225 cars, with a ramp for access. The ground floor will have space for 32 buses and six cars, while the first, second, and third floors will accommodate 67, 76, and 76 cars, respectively. A restaurant with seating for 76 people is also being built. Public amenities like separate toilets for men and women, purified drinking water, ATMs, and shops will be available. A waiting area has been set up alongside ticket counters for passenger convenience.

The state government is constructing a Multi-Modal Hub and a subway near the junction.

An underground subway is also under construction near Patna Junction to ease traffic congestion. It will have three entry and exit points—one at the Multi-Modal Hub, another near the multi-level car parking at Buddha Smriti Park, and the third near Mahavir Mandir at Patna Junction. The subway will be 440 meters long and equipped with four travelators, two escalators, and two lifts. The travelators will be 18 meters, 30 meters, 45 meters, and 55 meters in length. The entire subway will be air-conditioned.

The multi-level car parking at Maurya Lok has two sections—one in front of Maurya Lok with a capacity for 96 cars and another inside Maurya Lok, accommodating 60 cars. A dolly shuttle system will be used for parking. Officials from the Road Construction Department have been instructed to carry out road widening and beautification works, while engineers from the Electricity Department have been directed to systematically manage electrical wires for safety and efficiency.
