Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) will organise ward-wise property tax camps from October 5 to bring properties that are currently outside the tax net under assessment.
The camps will allow property owners to complete new assessment, reassessment, changes or alterations in property tax records and payment of outstanding property tax.
The initiative follows PMC’s recent door-to-door campaign to identify properties that have not yet been assessed or require reassessment.
Camps To Be Held In Two Phases
PMC will organise the camps in two phases between October 5 and October 10.
In the first phase, from October 5 to 7, camps will be held at:
- Nutan Rajdhani Circle: Ward Councillor Office, Sabz pura, Ward 3
- Pataliputra Circle: Gate No. 93, Ashok Rajpath, Ward 22-A
In the second phase, from October 8 to 10, camps will be held at:
- Nutan Rajdhani Circle: Ward Councillor Office, Harnichak, Ward 11
- Pataliputra Circle: Ward Councillor Office near Bank of Baroda, Kurji, Ward 22-B
Property owners can visit the camp nearest to them to access the available services.
PMC Teams To Identify Unassessed Properties
PMC has directed sanitation inspectors and sector supervisors to visit their respective wards and identify properties that have not yet undergone tax assessment or require reassessment.
Details of the identified properties will be provided to the concerned executive officers so that property owners can be informed and given access to assessment services through the camps.
PMC’s control room will also contact electricity consumers whose properties remain outside the property tax system.
They will be informed about the camps and encouraged to complete the assessment of their properties.
Property Tax Payment Also Available
The camps will not be limited to assessment-related services. Property owners will also be able to pay their outstanding property tax at the camps.
PMC has reminded property owners that a 1.5% monthly penalty on outstanding property tax has been applicable from October 1, 2026.
The civic body has appealed to property owners with outstanding dues to make payments at the earliest to avoid additional penalties.
Property Owners Urged To Complete Assessment
PMC has also urged owners of properties that have not yet been assessed to visit the designated camps and complete the process.
The ward-wise camps are intended to make property tax assessment and payment more accessible while helping the civic body identify properties outside the existing tax network and strengthen revenue collection.
