Patna: A major fire broke out at Eco Café and Restaurant near Patliputra Chowk in Patna around midnight, leaving the interior of the establishment completely destroyed.
According to fire officials, the blaze spread rapidly, gutting the café’s interiors within 15 to 20 minutes. Witnesses said panic spread in the area as residents and staff from neighbouring businesses, including Sony Motors, rushed to the spot.
Fifteen fire engines were deployed, and it took firefighters more than 45 minutes to bring the flames under control. The fire was contained before it could spread to adjacent buildings.
Ajit Kumar, the sub-divisional fire officer for Loddipur, confirmed there were no casualties, as the restaurant was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities said an inquiry will be carried out to establish how the blaze started and whether the restaurant had complied with fire safety regulations, including securing a no-objection certificate from the fire department.
