Patna: A shocking case has emerged in Patna after a young man allegedly pushed his girlfriend from the third floor of an apartment in Danapur and later abandoned her blood-soaked body at IGIMS Hospital. Four days after the incident, police are still struggling to identify both the victim and the accused, despite clear CCTV footage of the man who brought her to the hospital.
Girl Thrown From Third-Floor Apartment
According to police, the incident took place in Soho Nirmala Apartment located in Ashokpuri, RK Puram, Danapur. The man and the girl had been living together in Flat No. 306 since September 9. The flat owner, Akhilanand Singh, told police that the couple had rented the 2BHK apartment for Rs 8,000 a month and had presented themselves as husband and wife. The agreement was made in the name of Amit Kumar, son of Vimal Singh, resident of Kesari Nagar, Patna. However, the Aadhaar details given during the rental process later turned out to be fake.
Police said the man allegedly pushed the girl from the third floor — approximately 65 feet high — killing her on the spot. The shocking act was captured by CCTV cameras installed at a nearby private school. Though the apartment building itself only had parking-area cameras, the school’s cameras recorded the entire sequence, clearly showing the girl falling from the balcony.
Body Taken to IGIMS and Abandoned
After the incident, the accused is believed to have carried the girl’s body to the hospital. CCTV footage shows him dragging the unconscious girl with the help of an auto driver and leaving her on a stretcher near the emergency OPD of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) at around 4:12 pm on September 30. The man then fled the scene before anyone could question him.
The hospital’s security personnel informed the police outpost on campus, following which the Shastri Nagar police were alerted. By the time help arrived, the girl had died without receiving treatment. Her body has since been kept in the IGIMS mortuary.
Police Investigation: Fake Identity, Missing Mobile Phone
Investigators traced the incident to Danapur after matching the timeline with reports of a girl’s fall from an apartment balcony. The Danapur police later registered a case of murder. Forensic experts (FSL team) examined the flat, where they found clothes and personal belongings scattered, suggesting a scuffle had taken place before the fatal fall.
The police also discovered that the Aadhaar card number provided by “Amit Kumar” in the rental agreement was fake. The victim’s mobile phone is missing and is believed to have been taken by the accused. Police suspect the man fled using his Bullet motorcycle, left it near a main road, and then used an auto-rickshaw to transport the body to IGIMS, around seven kilometres away.
Attempts to Identify the Victim and Accused
Despite clear CCTV footage showing both faces, neither the man nor the girl has been identified. Shastri Nagar Police Station Officer Ravindra Kumar has circulated the girl’s image on police WhatsApp groups across districts in a bid to establish her identity.
Meanwhile, the school authorities have confirmed that they immediately alerted Dial 112 after witnessing the fall. However, the accused fled with the body before police could arrive.
Danapur Police Station Officer Prashant Kumar Bhardwaj said, “We are investigating the case from all possible angles. The footage from the school and IGIMS has been secured. The FSL team has inspected the flat, and efforts are on to identify both the victim and the suspect.”
Police Appeal for Information
Patna Police have appealed to the public for any information that might help identify the girl or the accused man. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are examining call records, local witnesses, and rental verification details to trace the suspect.
