Patna: Relief and rescue operations continued across Patna on Friday following the severe storm and strong winds that struck the city and several other districts on May 8, causing widespread disruption to roads, traffic and public infrastructure.

Officials said teams from the Disaster Management Department, district administration, municipal corporation, Forest Department and the State Disaster Response Force were jointly conducting cleanup and restoration operations on a “war footing”.

The operations are being carried out under the supervision of Chandrashekhar Singh.

Major Roads And Localities Under Restoration

Authorities said obstruction-removal and cleaning operations were being prioritised in several key locations across the capital, including Gaighat, Kankarbagh, Harding Road, Haj Bhawan, Patna Museum, the Secretariat area, Gardanibagh, 96 Officers Enclave, the airport area, Bailey Road, Punaichak and Nehru Park.

Officials said teams were continuously working to remove fallen trees, clear blocked routes and restore normal traffic movement in affected areas.

The government said efforts were also focused on ensuring the smooth resumption of daily life and restoring civic services disrupted by the storm.
